This self-guided walking audio tour explores the historic heart of The Hague through its defining themes: government, monarchy, religion, art, and international justice. The route begins at the Mauritshuis, where art and politics stand almost side by side. Please note that while your ticket is included and available within the app, the audio tour inside the museum is not provided. You may purchase it at the museum at an extra cost.
After you finish exploring the museum, unpause the tour and move to the Binnenhof, the medieval core of Dutch government. From there, you continue through the Palace Garden, along the elegant Lange Voorhout, past Kneuterdijk and Noordeinde Palace, and into the older civic center at the Old City Hall and the Grote of Sint-Jacobskerk. The walk then turns toward culture at Panorama Mesdag before ending at the Peace Palace, the landmark that made The Hague famous worldwide as a city of international law.
Along the way, you will experience waterside views of the Binnenhof, royal streets lined with grand townhouses, the calm dignity of palace gardens, the soaring 93-meter tower of the Grote Kerk, the surprise of a vast circular seascape at Panorama Mesdag, and the striking sight of the Peace Palace rising above its formal gardens.
