Your ticket to Hamburg Dungeon is included on this self-guided walking audio tour through Hamburg’s historic waterfront and civic center, ideal for first-time visitors and travelers curious about trade, shipping, architecture, and the city’s layered past. Please note that an audio tour inside Hamburg Dungeon is not provided. You'll have a live guide.
After the Dungeon, the route will take you on the edge of Speicherstadt, where red-brick warehouses, iron bridges, and narrow canals set the scene. You walk through Hamburg’s maritime story at the International Maritime Museum, pause at the canal-side Wasserschloss, and continue through the larger warehouse district before reaching the grand Townhall and the baroque tower of St. Michael’s Church.
The tour then opens onto the harbor at Überseebrücke and the museum ship Cap San Diego, before finishing at the Elbphilharmonie, where a former warehouse now carries one of Hamburg’s boldest modern landmarks.
Along the way, you will experience dark canal reflections in Speicherstadt, sweeping river views, the sight of a full cargo ship moored at the quay, and the striking contrast between brick port buildings and the glass wave of the Elbphilharmonie.
