This self-guided audio walk introduces first-time visitors to central Belgrade through its civic landmarks, historic streets, green spaces, and fortress views. It will especially appeal to travelers who enjoy history, architecture, and the feel of a city revealed on foot.
The route begins at the House of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, where the grand dome and formal façade set the tone for the city’s public life. From there, you follow the lively pedestrian street of Kneza Mihaila to Republic Square, then slip into the cobbled lanes of Skadarlija. The walk continues through Student Park and on to the Cathedral Church of Saint Michael the Archangel, before reaching Kalemegdan and the powerful walls of Belgrade Fortress.
The tour ends at the Monument of Gratitude to France, in one of the most scenic corners of the old city. Along the way, you can expect elegant 19th-century buildings, café-lined streets, church interiors, broad lawns, stone ramparts, and sweeping views where the Sava meets the Danube. The most memorable moments are likely to be the bustle of Republic Square, the bohemian charm of Skadarlija, and the dramatic river panoramas from the fortress edge.
